Credits
Pay for the reviews you run, and nothing else.
Edyth is paid for in credits. One credit is one dollar at the list rate, and every account starts with 10 credits — enough for a full deep review of a typical article. Completing your profile adds 5 more.
A review is metered by the work it takes: the length of the manuscript, the figures examined, the literature searched. Before every run you see an estimate; afterwards, the exact amount appears in the run list and in your billing history. There are no subscriptions.
what a review costs
Deep review · Standard five reviewers and a reader, every claim checked against the manuscript | 7–12 credits |
Deep review · Light the same reading by an economical model; good for an early draft | 1–2 credits |
Deep review · Advanced the most careful model we offer; for a manuscript about to be submitted | 18–30 credits |
Language check grammar, clarity and consistency, sentence by sentence | 2–6 credits |
Reference check every reference located and verified | under 1 credit |
Asking the reviewer one answer, on the review as a whole or on a single comment | 0.2–1.5 credits |
Literature, reviewers, journal match | under 1 credit each |
For an article of 8,000–12,000 words. Longer manuscripts cost proportionally more; the estimate you see before each run is for your manuscript.
asking the reviewer
You can put a question to the reviewer about the review as a whole or about any single comment. An answer costs a fraction of what the review costs, and you choose how deeply it is answered:
Light a quick answer from the economical model | about 0.02 credits |
Standard the usual depth; more when the answer searches the literature | 0.25 – 1 credit |
Advanced the most careful model, for a question worth arguing over | 0.6 – 3 credits |
Per answer, for a question about an article-length manuscript. What each answer cost appears under it, and your balance is in the header, so nothing interrupts you to ask.
buying credits
Credits are bought in any amount from $10. Larger purchases get more credits per dollar:
| $10 – $49.99 | $1.00 per credit |
| $50 – $99.99 | $0.96 per credit |
| $100 – $199.99 | $0.90 per credit |
| $200 – $499.99 | $0.87 per credit |
| $500 – $999.99 | $0.84 per credit |
| $1,000 and up | $0.80 per credit |
$100 buys 111 credits; $500 buys 595. Payment is handled by Stripe, which sends a receipt and a numbered invoice for every purchase; both can be opened again under Billing in your account.
if a run outgrows your balance
A run may start on any positive balance. If it uses the last of your credits it still finishes — the work is done — but its result stays locked until you add credits. The estimate before each run tells you when that is likely.
